A Novel Multiobjective Hybrid Technique for Siting and Sizing of Distributed Generation and Capacitor Banks in Radial Distribution Systems

Distributed generation (DG) and capacitor bank (CB) allocation in distribution systems (DS) has the potential to enhance overall system performance of radial (RDS) using a multiobjective optimization technique. The benefits CB DG injection RDS greatly depend on selecting suitable number CBs/DGs their volume along with finest location. This work proposes applying hybrid enhanced grey wolf optimizer particle swarm (EGWO-PSO) algorithm for optimal placement sizing DGs CBs. EGWO is metaheuristic technique stimulated by wolves. On other hand, PSO swarm-based that finds solution problem through movement particles. advantages both techniques are utilized acquire mutual benefits, i.e., exploration ability exploitation PSO. proposed method high convergence speed not trapped local optimal. Using this method, technical, economic, environmental functions (MOF) such as minimizing active power losses, voltage deviation index (VDI), total cost electrical energy, emissions from sources enhancing stability (VSI). Six different operational cases considered carried out two standard systems, namely, IEEE 33- 69-bus RDSs, demonstrate scheme’s effectiveness extensively. simulated results compared existing algorithms. From obtained results, it observed EGWO-PSO gives distinguished enhancements conflicting objective high-level global values.
